Derek Ramsay recovering from bulging disc injury
Working out and other strenuous activities would have to be on the back burner for now for Derek Ramsay following an injury to his lumbar vertebrae.
The actor-model-host took to social media today, Feb. 4, to update his friends and fans about his condition.
“Still stuck in bed but the pain is much less now,” he said via Instagram. “[Thanks] for all the prayers guys, I’ll be back on my feet in no time.”

Concerned friends of Ramsay sent well wishes his way, including Ogie Alcasid, director Ruel Bayani, host Margo Katharine and transgender beauty queen, Miss International Queen 2012 Kevin Balot, among others.

Meanwhile, Tongan actor-model and former “It’s Showtime” host Eric “Eruption” Tai seemed alarmed and asked Ramsay what happened to him.
“Dang! What happened bro?” he asked.
“@eruption23 Bulging disc bro L1 and L5,” said Ramsay.
Ramsay first posted about his injury last Jan. 30 via now-unavailable Instagram Stories. He told his fans that he had been experiencing some pain in his lower back, as per the Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub on Feb. 2, and was at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City to get an MRI scan.
If there is anyone who can attest to the pain of having a bulging disc, it would be fellow actress and Ramsay’s dream leading lady Angel Locsin.
Locsin experienced a similar fate when she suffered from a bulging disc back in 2015. She revealed on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” last Jan. 28 that she still feels pain at times whenever she works out. Locsin is also no longer allowed to do certain things anymore, such as suddenly standing up, twisting, running, jumping and bending. Cody Cepeda/JB
