Ogie’s unsolicited advice to guys with mistresses

/ 12:30 AM February 02, 2019

Ogie Alcasid

Whether Valentine’s Day is going to be a Hearts’ or Hurts’ Day, Ogie Alcasid has all the right songs that will hit you bull’s-eye.

Let the singer-songwriter serenade you in “Master of Love” on Feb. 14, 8 p.m. at Resorts World Manila (call Ticketworld at 8919999).

Highlights of the show include the hits of Barry Manilow, Basil Valdez, Hajji Alejandro and Rico Puno. With Ryan Cayabyab as musical director, the show will be nothing short of spectacular.

FEATURED STORIES

The OPM icon will be sharing stories of love, its heartaches and triumphs, including his own. He definitely has colorful tales to tell. The fact that Og’s ex, Michelle Van Eimeren, and his current wife Regine are good friends says a lot about the kind of man that he is.

While his songs soothe and enthrall us, Ogie’s unusual “love journey” from his first to second marriage shows us that one kind of love can lead to another.

Here’s my chat with Ogie :

What aspect of love have you mastered, and what do you still need to work on? Not sure if I have mastered any aspect yet, but I have certainly felt the love of the Master from up above. That is the love that I always long for.

If it’s romantic love we’re talking about, I still need to be more romantic—the kind that would make my wife giddy all over. Little surprises and more loving messages.

Since you and Reg are busy every V-Day, how do you make up for it? Trite as it may sound, every day is Valentine’s Day for us.

What makes your V-Day show this year different from your previous ones?  This year, I get to spend it with three wonderful ladies: Mariel de Leon, Lara Maigue and Tanya Manalang.

What’s it like when Regine and your ex, Michelle, are together? It’s a blessing to see them do motherly things together.

It’s a joy to watch them cook. Nothing beats the home-cooked meals they make. They’re really like sisters.

What advice would you give a guy who has a mistress? That’s a dead-end situation. There’s no point in pursuing someone who is already spoken for. Don’t let the thrill make you forget about the consequences of your actions.

What is the most significant song in your love story with Reg? “For the First Time” by Kenny Loggins. It reminds me of the first time I fell in love with her.

Tom’s sweet ‘display of affection’

This incident is too cute not to share. Tom Rodriguez unlocked his cell phone to show me the app he uses to learn Chinese for his new show on GMA 7, “Dragon Lady.” Et voilà! I saw Carla Abellana’s fab pic as the wallpaper of his phone. What could be sweeter than that PDA (phone display of affection)?

Personal: Thanks from the bottom of my heart to Nico Velasquez, Cleof Albiso, Nisha Gopaldas and Grace Calingo for such a heavenly stay at Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo.
