Barretto sang her parts in Filipino in front of a group of young musicians. Other artists hail from Laos, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar and, of course, Thailand.
The singer shared the happy news today on Instagram with a clip of her part. She wrote, “So honored to have been a part of FriendZone, a Thai movie, coming out in theaters soon!”
Scenes from the movie were interspersed with the singers’ performances to give audiences a preview of the film.
Based on the movie trailer, Barretto has a cameo appearance as a recording artist with one of the actors, Jason Young.
The movie follows a man, played by Naphat Siangsomboon, who is in love with his best friend played by Baifern—known for her role in “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” with Thai star Mario Maurer.
The movie is set to be released in time for Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14. /ra
