Ice Seguerra on pregnancy rumor: ‘May excuse na ako kung bakit ako mataba’

Singer and former National Youth Commission chairperson Ice Seguerra laughed off the rumor that he is pregnant, stating his funny retort through an Instagram post last Sunday, Jan. 27.
This came after he and wife, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson Liza Diño, shared that they have taken the first steps in conceiving a child through in vitro fertilization, thanks to Seguerra’s eggs and from a donor’s sperm, which will then be carried by Diño.

Seguerra shared a screenshot of the misleading post on Twitter that read, “OMG! Shocking! Aiza Seguerra is PREGNANT after Many Years, wife Liza Seguerra revealed.”
“Ayos! May excuse na ako bakit ako mataba (Cool! Now I have an excuse why I’m fat),” he said. He added that he too was surprised, as seen through his hashtag “#kahitakonashock” (even I was shocked).
Seguerra’s fellow singers also found the rumor humorous, such as Up Dharma Down’s lead vocalist Armi Millare and Yeng Constantino.

Seguerra diligently prepared himself for the egg-harvesting procedure last week, a step needed in the IVF. “He started taking Estrogen pills to prepare his body for the process,” Diño said. “Sya lang yata ang transman na nagtetake ng estrogen (He may be the only transman taking estrogen) (hahaha!) but he is determined.” JB
