‘The General’s Daughter’ dominates Twitter trends with its pilot episode

MANILA, Philippines — Angel Locsin’s comeback teleserye “The General’s Daughter” dominated the top Twitter trends in the Philippines as it premiered in ABS-CBN on Monday.


Locsin posted a screengrab of the social media platform’s trending topics in the Philippines via her official Twitter account.


She wrote, “From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so so much. Wow.”


Among the trending topics were “#TGDReportingForDuty,” “#TheGeneralsDaughter,” “Angel Locsin,” “Arjo Atayde,” “Darna” and “Action Drama Queen.”

In a separate tweet on Tuesday, Locsin shared a video where she expressed thanks to supporters who watched the action-adventure series’ pilot episode.

“Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat sa lahat ng nanood at sumuporta sa unang episode ng ‘The General’s Daughter,’ ang ‘TGD Reporting for Duty,’” she said.

“Salamat po sa magagandang feedback na iniwan niyo sa social media. Salamat po talaga,” she added.


“The General’s Daughter” stars veteran actors Tirso Cruz III, Albert Martinez, Maricel Soriano, Eula Valdez and Janice de Belen.

Also joining them in the cast are Ryza Cenon, Paulo Avelino, JC De Vera and the breakout love team of Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte dubbed as “LoiNie.”   /muf
