TV host-businessman Willie Revillame sent home one audience member during the Jan. 11 episode of “Wowowin” upon discovering she left her 4-month-old baby to go to his show.
The woman, who belonged to a group from Antipolo, Rizal, shared she already has a child when Revillame singled her out from the crowd.
“Asan yung anak niya? (Where’s her baby?)” he asked her companions.
“Iniwan ko, (I left it),” the woman replied.
Revillame appeared shocked at her revelation. “Paano kumakain anak mo?” he asked. “Anak mo intindihin mo. Ano ka ba? Sino dumedede?”
(How is your child eating? Worry about your child, what kind of a mother are you? Who’s breastfeeding?)
He then handed her P3,000, as well as a jacket, a cellphone and Liveraide supplements while the crowd and the woman’s group cheered, but he instead lectured them.
“Sandali, hindi tama yung iwan yung anak niyong walang kinakain, hindi tama yun,” he said.
(Wait, it’s not right to leave your child with nothing to eat, that isn’t right.)
He then told her to go home and to remove her “Wowowin” T-shirt.
“Umuwi ka na, tanggalin mo na yung Wowowin [T-shirt]. Bayad daw to, di bale okay na yan, pabayaan niyo na siyang umuwi,” he said, turning to the woman’s companions.
“Eh yung anak nito hindi pa dumedede mag-isip kayo, hindi ba kayo nanay? Umuwi ka na…”
(Just go home, remove the Wowowin [T-shirt]. She says this is paid, never mind, it’s okay. Her child hasn’t breastfed yet, think, aren’t you mothers yourselves? Go home.)
As a studio worker led the woman to the exit, Revillame called her back and asked her if she knew how to go home. When he suggested to her to just take the taxi, she replied that she did not have any money.
“Sandali, alam mo bang umuwi? Di niya daw alam umuwi. Paano ka uuwi? “Ba’t di ka nalang mag taxi?”
(Wait, do you know how to go home? She doesn’t know how to go home. How are you going home? Why don’t you just take a taxi?).
“Wala akong pera (I don’t have money).”
To this, Revillame gave her another P1,000 and told her to just take the Grab home. “O, isang libo, mag-Grab ka, 4,000 na yan…” (Here’s P1,000, just take the Grab. That’s already P4,000).
He, however, changed his mind and asked the studio crew if they had a ride service instead. “Meron tayong service ba? Pa-service niyo na lang sa GMA.” (Do we have a service? Just have GMA bring her home).
The woman then requested to bring with her two companions who had to go to the hospital. Out of pity, Revillame also gave them P500 each before seeing them out of the studio. /ra
