/ 05:02 PM January 14, 2019

As Marvel Studios move to TV streaming territory, one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters who could make the transition is Lady Sif from the “Thor” movies.

From being a supporting character in Asgard, the goddess of war could be getting her own show on streaming service Disney+, even if she was only present in the first two “Thor” films and was missing from “Thor: Ragnarok”, as per Discussing Film on Jan. 12.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is said to be producing the show and actress Jaimie Alexander will reprise her role.

This will not be Lady Sif’s first TV show appearance, as she has appeared in ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Disney+ is said to be shelling out a movie budget for its TV shows — $100 million (P5.2 billion) to be exact for each show’s six to eight episodes.

So far, only Loki has been confirmed to receive his own show, Bob Iger revealed last November. It will feature Tom Hiddleston, but speculations state that he will be a narrator rather than have a starring role in it.

Other characters who do not have standalone films are also expected to have TV shows, as per multiple reports. “The Vision and the Scarlet Witch”, “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, “Rocket and Groot” and “Nick Fury” are said to be in development. Niña V. Guno/JB
