Sunshine Cruz proudly shared her daughters’ pictures after they partied the night away at Mavy and Cassy Legaspi’s 18th birthday last night, Jan. 12.
Sam, 14, and Angelina, 17, both stunned in strappy and shiny gowns during the star-studded celebration.
Sunshine could not help but gush over her eldest daughter Angelina who posed for some portraits in her backless silver gown which was complemented with makeup in pink tones and by her long hair in waves.
“Hay anak (Oh, my child) [heart-eyed emoji],” she said of the pictures she shared yesterday, Jan. 12 on Instagram.
While compliments poured for Angelina — with many stating she looked like her mom, or even American actress Alexis Bledel and Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello — one netizen found an issue with her choice of dress.
Instagram user @expensive_addict said, “Ke bata bata pa pinagsusuot mo na ng ganyan damit. Hays [crying emoji].”
(You allow her to wear that at such a young age.)
Sunshine was quick to defend her daughter’s choice of dress. “She’s 17 years old. Attending a Hollywood-themed party. Ano problema sa suot nya (What’s wrong with what she’s wearing) if I may ask?”

As of writing, the netizen has yet to respond, though others have sided with the actress. “Ngek ano gusto mong isuot ni begets Maria Clara (What do you want the teen to wear, a Maria Clara gown)?” wondered one Cielo (@memyselfandishello).

Another netizen, advised Sunshine to ignore the comment and that there was no problem with it. “Bagay nga siya (It suits her),” said one @cessocliasa.

Whatever thoughts others had on her outfit did not deter Angelina from enjoying the night with friends Lorin Gutierrez, Kyle Echarri, Andrea Brillantes, Alexa Ilacad and Johan Kyle Ong.

Unlike her mom, Angelina is taking to music rather than acting. She released her debut EP “Angelina” in 2018. Sam too aspires to break into the music industry, having recently signed to the label Mustard Music. JB
