Twice the fun: Mavy and Cassy Legaspi throw star-studded 18th birthday party
Mavy and Cassy Legaspi proved that two heads are better than one in their dazzling 18th joint birthday celebration held yesterday, Jan. 12 in Makati.
To make sure the party was as glamorous as their designer outfits, the Legaspi twins had Gideon Hermosa transform events venue One Canvas into a vision of red and gold, with chandeliers and a backdrop fitting for an awards show.
The twins and their parents looked every inch like showbiz royalty in outfits care of Francis Libiran. Cassy wore a glittering gold mermaid dress with a long train in ruffles while Mavy complemented her as he donned a navy blue ensemble. His blazer stood out with a gold crest embroidered on it and a satin sash around his waist. This he paired with printed pants and white sneakers.
Parents Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi also stunned in their stylish outfits. Carmina was a vision in a sequined purple off-shoulder gown while her husband looked sleek in a navy blue tuxedo, also from Francis Libiran.
There was no shortage of celebrity guests, many of whom were the twins’ peers. Kids of celebrity parents, such as Lorin Gutierrez, Angelina Cruz and Sam Cruz partied together with young celebs such as Alexa Ilacad, Andrea Brillantes and Kyle Echarri.
Actress Kathryn Bernardo graced the debut along with Daniel Padilla’s younger sister Magui Planas. Chic in a short black ensemble and sequined pumps, some of those she partied with were “The Hows of Us” co-star Ria Atayde, celeb hairstylist John Valle and actress Sofia Andres.
Kapuso artists in attendance included brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz, Migo Adecer, Andre Paras, Kyline Alcantara and Miguel Tanfelix.
The Legaspi family ensured there was much entertainment for the night. For their entrance, Cassy took centerstage as she performed a rendition of Dua Lipa’s “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)”. Her brother escorted her to the platform in front of their guests as she confidently sang solo.
Guests witnessed several heartwarming moments from the family. Aside from the traditional father-daughter dance in debuts, mom Carmina slow-danced with Mavy.
In a touching speech to her twins, mom Carmina reminded them what they meant to her. Quoting the Robert Munsch book “Love You Forever”, she said, “I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as i’m living, my babies you’ll be.”
Cassy and Mavy turned 18 last Jan. 5 in a celebration at Taguig with their parents. JB
