WATCH: Brie Larson channels inner Spider-Man while rock-climbing
Brie Larson has been training hard to play the titular character of “Captain Marvel,” but as per one of her workout videos, she might just try to be another Marvel superhero.
The actress shared a video on Instagram last Monday, Dec. 31, showing off her upper body strength and agility while bouldering.

“My self tape for the role of Spider-Man?” she wrote in the caption.
In the routine, Larson is seen maneuvering herself across various angles on an artificial rock wall, at one point hanging parallel to the floor.
It earned her praise from fans, one of whom was actress Jennifer Garner, who commented, “Atta girl!”

To say the actress’ strength training for the role is intense is an understatement. Larson put in nine months of serious gym work to become one of the most powerful superheroes in the universe, E! News reported on Dec. 4. It came to the point that she could do 215 lbs. in deadlifts and 400 lbs. in hip thrusts, thanks to a variety of workouts including pull-ups, weighted pushups and boxing.
“Captain Marvel” is the first female-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It hits Philippine theaters in March. /ra
