While all eyes were on Miss Universe Catriona Gray and her fellow contestants during the pageant on Monday, Dec. 17, there was a minor accident that happened behind the scenes.
Like the contestants, commentators too have wardrobe changes during Miss Universe, a feat in terms of time and avoiding injury backstage, as one of them would learn.
Model Ashley Graham was one of the three backstage hosts, alongside Carson Kressley and Lu Sierra, in the pageant held in Thailand.
While doing a costume change, Graham fell down some stairs backstage, earning a painful bruise on her leg, she revealed in her Instagram Stories.
“OK, so I’m doing some quick ass changes you guys, and then, of course, I fell down the stairs and I got the medics on me,” she narrated.
In another post on her Stories, she said, “It actually looks worse than it feels, except for it is throbbing a bit.”
After receiving treatment from medics, she found her bearings and finished the competition in a stunning green number.
With regard to her wardrobe, Graham’s white gown was criticized by Vice Ganda for wearing the wrong type of underwear which he said made her hips look lumpy. The comment earned jeers from netizens who alleged that he was body-shaming her. JB
