Lea Salonga recently aired her side in regard to her performance at the state dinner in Malacanang Palace last month in honor of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Salonga took to Twitter on Wednesday, Dec. 12, to ask her fans what certain characteristics would take away from a man’s handsomeness. She shared her own opinion and said these were body odor, bad breath and excessive pride.

Salonga added that zero kindness, bad treatment of service staff and arrogance, among others, take a way from a man’s handsomeness.

“Also, if you make a seriously awful joke at a woman’s expense, congratulations,” she said. “You’re ugly.”

A certain Joey (@MsLeaSalonga) replied to Salonga’s question and shared that supporters of Duterte and the Marcoses are a no-no for him

“For me, if a person is pro-Marcos or a Dutertard, it’s a NO!”

One Tintin (@Chip2chip2), in reply to Salonga, instead accused her of being one of those who benefited from the Marcoses.

“Isa si Lea sa nakinabang sa mga pinag nanakaw ng mga Marcos, iniisip ang sarili hindi ang Bayan,” the netizen said before mentioning Salonga’s recent performance in Xi’s state dinner.

“Kung ganoon aso na din si @MsLea Salonga ni Duterte?” the netizen continued to say. “Mahilig pala iyan sa mga nangungurakot.”

Salonga, on her end, replied to the netizen and clarified that she only got paid with the amount agreed upon by her management and the Palace’s social secretary.

“Uhmm, if I may (since you tagged me, I can see it), I got paid only whatever performance fees were agreed upon between the palace’s social secretary and my management,” clarified Salonga.

She added, “To say na ‘nakinabang ako sa nakaw nila’ is a stretch…”

It was last Nov. 20 that Salonga performed at the state dinner for Xi. She sang “I Dreamed a Dream” and “On My Own” from  musical “Les Miserables,” a performance that earned the praise of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, a big Salonga fan.  /ra
