Dingdong Dantes proud of Marian Rivera’s best actress award

MANILA, Philippines — Dingdong Dantes was a proud husband when his wife Marian Rivera won Best Actress at the 8th Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Gawad Parangal.

Being a witness to Rivera’s talent since their first project together, Dantes expressed how his wife was deserving of the recognition.

“In 2007, I had the privilege of working with Marian in Marimar, and as her co-actor, I saw in her that extraordinary talent that most people in our industry – including myself – would want to achieve and unlock,” Dantes wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.

He thought Rivera was a “natural” at the time, adding how unbelievable it was to direct her in a “sensitive drama that showcased her God-given gift.”

Rivera won best actress for her episode in drama anthology series “Tadhana” titled “Milya-milyang Agwat ng Mag-ina” directed by Dantes.

The Kapuso Primetime King expressed how ecstatic he was to see his wife’s talent being recognized saying, “I am just so happy to have witnessed first hand this milestone behind the camera.”

He added: “On and off screen, in my lens as a husband, she will always be my best actress. Magaling din kasi magdrama sa bahay.”

Meanwhile, Dantes won Best Documentary Host for GMA’s informative show “Amazing Earth.”

The 8th OFW Gawad Parangal was held on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Pasay City. It honors individuals who share their time, skills and resources to advance the welfare of OFWs.
