Singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre has admitted feeling pressure about her body as her wedding with fiancé Jason Marvin Hernandez is fast approaching.
The “Titibo-tibo” singer said she liked herself most days but revealed recently stressing over her weight with only over 40 days left before her special day.
“I feel guilty I couldn’t seem to stick to a diet. Work’s been nonstop and Jason & I are still adjusting to this new life we’ve been given, it’s been hard to eat and sleep right,” Dela Torre on Saturday said in an Instagram post.
She added: “I feel almost sad at the thought my body is not at its healthiest for my almost-husband.”
Nonetheless, Dela Torre said her husband-to-be still looks at her the same way he did “so many pounds ago.”
She shared how Hernandez countered her negative thoughts and repeatedly reminded her that it’s okay, “that my worth and beauty will never be defined by my weight.”
The 25-year-old singer, then, thanked Hernandez “for reminding me that I’m happy and blessed and beautiful, esp on days when I forget my worth.”
“I can’t wait to marry you,” she added.
Kris Aquino commented on the singer’s post and shared her own experience as someone “who has weight issues.”
The Queen of All Media advised her to “PLEASE just try to eat HEALTHY and enjoy your food.”
“We put too much pressure on ourselves to maintain a ‘good for the camera’ size & measure our self-worth based on how we look, when we should strive to be comfortable in our own skin,” she added.
Meanwhile, actress Iza Calzado said, “what a blessing it is to find a man who sees and knows that you are more than your body and knows your true worth!”
The couple got engaged in April 2018 when Hernandez surprised Dela Torre with a proposal during the latter’s ‘Tagpuan’ music video shoot. /cbb
