It was the actress’ first time to jam with her dad onstage, Janella said in an Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 24, where she shared with fans videos of their performance at Strumm’s Makati. Her dad’s band Authority backed them up with instrumentals.

“Surreal. No dry cough or dysmenorrhea can stop me (so please forgive my shaky voice)!” wrote the thrilled 20-year-old.

She shared a link to a YouTube video which captured their medley that was a tribute to iconic rock band Queen. It included their hits “We Will Rock You”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, “I Want to Break Free”, “We Are the Champions” and “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

The father and daughter had a ball singing to the classic songs, with Janella dancing along to the catchy beats.

It was a full house for the bar as early as 8 p.m., according to Strumm’s Facebook page. Authority plays at the bar every Thursday, though the show with Janella was their last gig for 2018.

Janella revealed in 2015 that she reached out to her dad after being estranged from him for six years. She surprised him with a visit by watching his show at Strumm’s along with her mom Jenine Desiderio.

Since then, the two have reconnected over the years, with Janella spotted supporting her dad in his shows. Now it seems the efforts in repairing their relationship has worthwhile, with Janella enthusiastically joining her dad onstage and bonding over their love for music. JB
