Sam Milby remembers late half-brother, reminds motorcycle riders to wear helmet
Sam Milby may be an adrenaline junkie, but as with true daredevils, for him safety is still and should always be of utmost importance. The actor recently took to social media to share to his fans the story of his half-brother who perished too soon when Milby was only 1 year old.
Milby shared on Instagram last Nov. 21 a photo of his brother’s leather Harley-Davidson motorcycle jacket. As per Milby, it was the jacket his brother was wearing when he got into an accident and was not wearing a helmet.
“Ito ang jacket na suot ng half brother ko nung naaksidente siya,” Milby wrote. “Hindi siya nakasuot ng helmet…”

“I see so many riders here sa Pinas na hindi gumagamit ng helmet,” he said. “Please if you’re a rider, ALWAYS wear a helmet.”
Many netizens agreed with Milby’s observation, taking to his comments section to air their opinions. Some also shared that apart from not wearing helmets, it is common to see people not wearing seatbelts when inside the car.
“Dapat talaga mag suot ng helmet napaka-importante nito,” wrote one Bhaby Nonita (@bhabynonita). “At marami din satin na hindi nagse-seatbelt kapag nasa loob ng car pag nagbyabyahe. Especially yung mga toddler wala silang carseat.”
One American, a certain Bradley (@bradleyrymph), expressed similar views, saying that many states in America have rescinded their helmet laws.
“So right! Unfortunately here in the US too many states have rescinded their helmet laws,” the netizen wrote. “And, when I am in the Philippines, I am always amazed at the number of helmetless motorcyclists who zip around cars stuck in traffic without any seeming regard for their own safety, let alone anyone else’s.”
Safety first! /ra
