Rajo Laurel hopeful Maymay Entrata will wear his design
Rajo Laurel remains patient as he waits for the day Maymay Entrata will walk down the catwalk wearing one of his creations.
The fashion designer congratulated Entrata for her participation in the Arab Fashion Week by setting aside a Hello Kitty plush toy along with a handwritten message and sharing a snapshot of the items in a Nov. 20 tweet.
Laurel wrote, “Sending you some Hello Kitty love! I know you love Hello Kitty… Still praying that you will one day walk in my fashion(?) show… till then sending you more admiration.”
Surprised and elated at the unexpected gift, Entrata shared the snapshot on her Instagram Stories on Nov. 20, with a reply. The actress apologized to Laurel that their schedules overlapped. At the same time, she expressed her anticipation of the day she would also get to wear one of the famed designer’s dresses.
“Hala sir! Huhu maraming salamat sir sa hello kitty. Pasensya po sir kung nagkatugma po sched natin, sana po balang araw makapag lakad din ako sa show nyo pero ganin paman maraming maraming salamat,” wrote Entrata.
(Oh no, sir! Huhu thank you very much for the Hello Kitty. I’m really sorry our schedules matched. I hope one day I can also walk the catwalk in one of your shows. Even then, thank you very very much.)
Laurel replied to Maymay through a tweet where he simply said, “In God’s time. I will wait…”
About a month earlier, Laurel already pegged Entrata to be one of his models. He even claimed in an Oct. 13 tweet that he was creating a special piece just for her.
Meanwhile, Entrata has been open in expressing her desire to become a model. In a fortunate coincidence, the actress caught the attention of not one but two renowned Filipino fashion designers.
Entrata will walk the catwalk at the Arab Fashion Week today, Nov. 21, for Furne One Amato’s show.
She will then hold a concert with love-team partner Edward Barber on Nov. 23 at Dubai’s Global Village. /ra
