The Spice Girls

While ’90s kids all over the world rejoiced over the recent announcement that the Spice Girls will be reuniting for a six-date tour in the United Kingdom in June, not a few were disappointed to learn that Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice) won’t be joining Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm onstage.

“I won’t be joining my girls again, but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life, and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year,” Victoria wrote on an Instagram post.

“I know they will put on an amazing show. And the fantastic fans, past and present, are going to have a wonderful time!” added the singer-turned-designer, who last performed with the all-girl pop group at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

‘Strange’

Meanwhile, in an interview with Heart Radio, Melanie C. said she felt it would be “strange” performing without Victoria.
“She’s very excited for us… It’s going to be strange, you know, because none of us can watch the Spice Girls onstage, but she will be able to,” she pointed out.—ALLAN POLICARPIO
