WATCH: Bruno Mars ‘hires’ Ed Sheeran to sing him happy birthday

Bruno Mars turned a year older on Monday, Oct.8, and thought he should hire someone to sing “happy birthday” to him all day.

The Grammy Award-winner enlisted no less than another award-winner — Ed Sheeran, as seen in Mars’ Instagram post today, Oct. 9.

In the video, Mars delightfully eats his birthday cupcakes while Sheeran sings the “Happy Birthday” song. At one point, Sheeran called Mars as the “two-time Super Bowl performing Bruno.”

“You know you’ve made it when you can hire Ed Sheeran to sing you Happy Birthday,” said Mars. He also referred to his special day as “Bruno Mars Day.”

On his Twitter account, Mars said he is sending his fans “nothing but love and positive energy on this international Holiday!!!”

Other celebrities also wished the singer a happy birthday, such as television host Ellen DeGeneres. She posted a throwback moment when she kissed Mars during her show.

And Missy Elliot commended Mars not only for his “undeniable talent and mad skills” but also for being a “beautiful soul.”
