Fil-Am wins ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ top prize

Filipino-American Hannahlei Cabanilla emerged as “America’s favorite dancer” as she won the US talent search “So You Think You Can Dance” on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).

Cabanilla, 18, was declared as the winner of the 15th season of the talent show besting other finalists Genessy Castillo, Slavik Pustovoytov, and Jensen Arnold.

Shortly after the announcement, Cabanilla said that “having an impact” towards the public was what she would remember the most.

“Just having an impact on all these people’s lives, it’s just so amazing,” she said when asked by host Cat Deeley.

Aside from $250,000 cash prize,  Cabanilla will be  featured  on a magazine cover and given  a role in Fox’s live musical of “Rent.” /cbb
