Daniel Padilla admits going on a break from Kathryn Bernardo

After Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo officially admitted their relationship, more details of their long-term romance are coming out in the open.
Padilla guested in the talk show “Tonight with Boy Abunda” in an episode aired yesterday, Aug. 29, to spill more details about how they have managed to last for over five years.
He admitted that it wasn’t an easy ride. “Maraming beses na ako napagod, pero hindi ko siya iniwan (There have been several times when I would get tired, but I didn’t leave her).”
“Nasa gitna kami ng pag-aaway at nandun nasa point nung, ‘Gusto mo pa ba?’ or ‘Ayaw mo na ba?’ Pero babalik din ako na ‘Sino ba itong tao na ‘to para sa ‘kin?’”
(In the middle of a fight, we reached the point of “Do you still want this or not?” But I would always go back to “Who is this person to me?”)
It aligns with what he said previously on “Gandang Gabi Vice” wherein he said he has always had the choice to walk away but has chosen to stay.
He also revealed that they’ve gone on a break. “Nagkaroon kami pero mabilis lang din kasi ‘di rin namin kaya eh. Babalik ka na naman eh.”
(We’ve had [a break] but it was short because we couldn’t handle it. You’ll come back anyway.)
As for keeping the spark alive, he recommended, “You should do something na kayong dalawa lang (between just the two of you).”
“Every time marami kaming kasama ni Kathryn. And once kaming dalawa na lang, nagiging exciting siya, it’s gonna be an adventure for us… So mas lalo ko siya naappreciate ‘pag kaming dalawa lang,” he explained.
(Kathryn and I always have a lot of people with us. And once it’s just us, it becomes exciting, it’s gonna be an adventure for us… So I appreciate her even more when it’s just us two.)
Making plans for the future is more like daydreaming for them, he said, like asking about a dream wedding or a dream house. He said he still feels hesitant to ask her about the topic of children.
