Christian Bautista can now tick this off after performing with Boyzone during its farewell concert on Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

He crooned to “No Matter What,” filling in the vocals of late member Stephen Gately, who died in 2009. A clip of his performance with the Irish group was shared on his Instagram.

“What a very talented and kind and generous group they are,” he said in praise.

The balladeer revealed in an Instagram post that he too was part of a boy band in high school, albeit one that sang a cappella. He said many pieces in their repertoire were boy-band songs including those of Boyzone.

“I never imagined I would be given an opportunity to actually sing with them onstage. This was a great night,” he said.

Boyzone consists of Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch. The group celebrates their 25th anniversary this year and will formally disband next year. Their hit songs include “Picture of You,” “Love Me for a Reason” and “Every Day I Love You.”
