Dingdong Dantes writes to ‘Ang Probinsyano’ over alleged use of wedding and family photos
Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s fans called out television series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” for its alleged use and editing of the couple’s wedding photo and their family photo during the baptism of their daughter, Zia, last Thursday, Aug. 9. Dantes, in response, sent the production team of the TV show a letter to express his “dismay and deep concern” over the matter.
“Last week, the DongYanatics (Dingdong-Marian fans) has brought to my attention that photos of our family were used and altered for a primetime television show,” wrote the actor in a Facebook post yesterday, Aug. 13.
The actor also uploaded the video showcasing the scenes where the supposed photos were used. “In two episodes of Ang Probinsyano, our wedding photo and a photo taken during Zia’s baptism were edited and featured without the consent of our photographer and our family.”

He said he thought about whether he should disclose his response to the public, but realized he owed it to their fans, friends and family to share the action he had taken to address the issue. He then stated that he had forwarded a letter to the show’s production team. “This was done, in good faith, to express my dismay and deep concern.”

I do hope that this won’t happen again to anyone.”

“I appreciate that you found artistic inspiration from the original photos. Unfortunately, there is the inescapable consequence that legal and moral rights were violated here. And as you may very well be aware of, established industry practice is against such act as it amounts to disrespect. Worst of all, as a father and husband, I cannot help but feel offended and deeply hurt by such actions, which happened not just once, but twice. Basic rules of courtesy in this case dictate that you first secure permission from the photographer and my Family.”
The production team of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” has yet to comment or issue an official statement on the issue, as of this writing. NVG
