Xian Lim powers through worries: Show up, trust the process
Nothing worth having comes easy. It’s a maxim that rings true for Xian Lim who, despite being a celebrity, struggles with the same realities that afflict even people who live normal, less publicized lives: that everybody has bad days.
Lim took to his Twitter on Aug. 9 to share to his fans about his own experience of feeling under the weather.
“I woke up feeling really crappy today. I felt tired and sore from a game we lost last night,” Lim opened up. “I felt like getting a fever from the rain and I really didn’t want to get up at 5am to make the 2hr drive to practice. In the back of my head I was also thinking of my lolo’s recovery…”

Lim may have been referring to a basketball game with his tweet. Being the multi-talented individual that he is, Lim excels in sports, too, apart from his being an actor, host and singer. He now plays as a professional basketball player for the Mandaluyong El Tigre of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

I knew I had to show up. So I did. I knew I had to trust the process. I got through the worries I had in my head and conquered them. Most of the time, we just have to fight through it. It may not be the best feeling in the world but believing in yourself and knowing that YOU CAN

For Lim, fighting through the worries and doubts “may not be the best feeling in the world,” but he knows that believing in one’s self makes all the difference.
“So to whoever is feeling all bummed out, know that YOU CAN get through it and YOU WILL be that person you see yourself to be,” Lim encouraged his fans.
(Continued) knowing that YOU CAN, and YOU WILL makes all the difference. So to whoever is feeling all bummed out, know that YOU CAN get through it and YOU WILL be that person you see yourself to be. 😄

Last Aug. 7, Lim took to his Instagram to share a picture of him with Allan “Triggerman” Caidic, one of the legendary basketball players in Philippine history and who is known for being among the best of shooters.
‘Thank you coach Allan @trggrmn sa spontaneous invite sa house!” Lim wrote in gratitude. “Great words of encouragement on how to become a better basketball player! I’m excited to wear your jersey! Thank you ninong!”
