Lemuel Lorca’s 2016 comedy “Echorsis (Sabunutan Between Good and Evil)” is competing in the feature film section of the online tilt Five Continents International Film Festival, based in Venezuela.

Lorca told the Inquirer: “What a blessing! I’m extremely thankful that up to now, the film is still being recognized not only locally but internationally, as well.”

Cahilig said “Echorsis” was vying for the best LGBT feature film award.

John Lapus enthused: “I’m so happy. I hope the international audience would enjoy our film. I love going to festivals abroad. I had the chance to attend the screening of ‘Here Comes the Bride’ in an open-air venue at the Busan film fest in 2010.”

Lapus recalled that he, costar Eugene Domingo and director Chris Martinez felt like big stars on the red carpet in Busan. “Hearing the crowd’s applause was flattering.” —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
