K-pop group BTOB’s leader Seo Eunkwang announced that he will be enlisting in the military on Aug. 21, K-Pop Herald reports.
The singer confirmed the news by releasing a statement through his agency, Cube Entertainment, wherein he also apologized for the surprising news.
“I am really sorry to fans who might be surprised at this sudden news about my enlistment. I am sorry for not being able to keep all those many promises I made with you. I will keep those promises after I fulfill my military duty,” his statement read.
No details will be released about his enlistment as Seo has opted for a low-profile enlistment, his agency said.
Seo debuted as the leader of BTOB in 2012 and is known for his powerful vocals and for writing songs. The group is also known for its stable vocals even during performances, and for its a capella performances.
Aside from his idol activities, Seo also has background in the musical industry. He made his music debut in 2013 in “Monte Cristo” and in the same year, he starred in “Bachelor’s Vegetable Store”.
BTOB will be holding a series of solo concerts entitled “2018 BTOB Time-This Is Us” from Aug. 10 to 12 in Seoul. Seo will be enlisting after BTOB’s group activities. JB
