Lani Misalucha

Lani Misalucha’s “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” is one of my fave OPM tunes. The chanteuse is one of the judges in GMA 7’s reality talent show, “The Clash.” It airs on the network’s Sabado Star Power and Sunday Grande block. Asia’s Nightingale is raring to groom the next concert superstar.

Here’s my chat with Lani:

What was your most embarrassing moment onstage? Too many to mention. I have tripped. I went off-key. I usually burp.

FEATURED STORIES

Are good singers born and not made? Some people are born with talent. But to be able to be very good at it requires discipline and practice.

What’s your take on lip-synching? I have nothing against it, especially when the situation calls for it. Like when the singer isn’t feeling too well or the sound system is not great. I have lip-synched not by choice, but by circumstance.

What makes “The Clash” different from other talent search shows? From the get-go, contestants can be eliminated just like that. Laglagan na agad.

What are your rituals before a concert? Vocalization. Days before the concert, I must have adequate rest.

What kind of grandma are you? I am a doting grandma. I spoil my four grandbabies. When [my husband] Papa Noli and I are in Vegas, we spend as much time as we can with them. I hope when they grow up, they would realize how much their lolo and I love them.

What’s your personal anthem? No song for myself. But “All My Life” is my theme song with my hubby.

What makes your marriage work? Name it, we have been through it all. Noli and I have been together for 28 years. We experienced health scares and hitting rock-bottom financially. But through it all, we held on to God. Looking back, we just laugh it all off now.

Matteo’s mom talks

I cornered Matteo Guidicelli’s mom, Glenna, about her thoughts on her son’s relationship with Sarah Geronimo. Her reply: “She’s a nice and respectful girl. Whoever he’s happy with, I will support him. If they are meant to be, then so be it.”

Is she close to Sarah’s mom? “I’ve seen her once only,” Glenna said.

At least, Matteo’s mom is not mum about Sarah.

Just asking

Could it be true that the rumored 1-month-old baby boy of John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna was named after the latter’s dad Elias Modesto, who passed away recently?

And could it be true that the couple is moving from Maria Luisa Subdivision to a house that JL is having built in Cebu?

Lloydie might dismiss this again as “fake news,” but my sources in Cebu insist that it’s true. Ambot lang.
