Kris Aquino honors Cory Aquino on ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ role

Kris Aquino reveals that her role as an Asian princess in the upcoming film “Crazy Rich Asians” is her way of honoring former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino, as her dialogue reflects what her late mother “symbolized” and “championed.”
“[W]henever there’s a problem, a trial, or some sadness, [I] still get my reassurance secure in the knowledge ‘ang Mom na ang bahala, hindi nya kami pababayaan (Mom will take care of things, she won’t forsake us),'” wrote Aquino in a post she shared via Instagram today, July 30.
“Nung buhay sya sa endorsements ko pa lang po super happy na [s’ya] (When she was still alive, she was super happy with my endorsements alone),” the Queen of All Media reminisced. “[E]very pilot telecast of my tv shows my mom would always text or call to wish me luck then to congratulate [and] pag (on the) premiere night ng movies ko (of my movies), no fail- she was there-because naging pamahiin na namin na naghi-hit yung movie kung nakapanood sya (it had been our belief that my film will be a hit movie if she was able to watch it).”
Aquino admitted that she misses her mother. She added that her portrayal of an Asian princess (the name of which she did not specify, but an IMDB listing states “Princess Intan”) in a Hollywood movie would have made her mother proud and happy.
“This once in a lifetime blessing is for me, my way of honoring her memory,” noted the Queen of All Media. “If you ever do get to watch the movie, you’ll understand what [I] mean because those few sentences of dialogue [I] got to deliver are a reflection of what Cory Aquino symbolized [and] championed.”

Kris Aquino recently shared to fans that she had an anaphylactic shock while filming in Indonesia. She revealed that she will know by Aug.1, whether or not she will be allowed to fly to the United States for the Hollywood premiere of “Crazy Rich Asians”. JB
