US President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was found destroyed on Wednesday, July 25. Pictures of the destroyed star  circulated over social media, the whole affair harking back to 2016 when Trump’s star was first obliterated by a sledgehammer. This time around, Trump’s star was shattered with a pickax.

Ryan Parker, a senior staff writer at The Hollywood Report, took to Twitter last July 25 to share pictures of the star. “Donald Trump’s star completely destroyed along the Hollywood walk of fame,” wrote Parker.

“Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill reacted to the destruction, taking to his own Twitter account on the same day to poke fun at the situation.

“BREAKING NEWS: Trump’s Hollywood ‘Walk of Fame’ Star Destroyed With Pick Axe,” wrote Hamill, as he shared photos of Trump’s star as well as screenshots of him destroying television host Jimmy Kimmel’s Walk of Fame star last March.

Hamill also shared a photo of him in a car with two dogs and insisted that he was not the one behind the destruction of Trump’s star. “It may look bad, but I have an IRON-CLAD ALIBI: I was puppy-sitting & both Millie & Mabel can vouch for me.”

One netizen, however, asked Hamill why he destroyed Kimmel’s star. “OK, rewind one second,” asked a certain Kaitlyn (@KaitlynBurnell). “Why did you destroy Jimmy Kimmel’s star?”

Hamill simply answered, “It was a comedy sketch on his show.”

Austin Clay, the man who smashed Trump’s Walk of Fame star, has since turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department, as per the Los Angeles Times last July 25. The police officers took Clay into custody and booked him for felony vandalism. He was granted bail of $20,000.

In a turn of events, Clay was bailed out by James Otis, the man who first destroyed Trump’s star with a sledgehammer back in 2016, according to TMZ last July 25. Otis is the Otis elevator heir.  Cody Cepeda /ra
