Julia Montes’ confusion on new PH coins: ‘Kailangan mong makitang maigi’
Are you still not used to the new look of Philippine peso coins issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)? You are not the only one, because Julia Montes feels for you.
The “Asintado” actress expressed that she is not a fan of how the coins look, as seen in her Instagram story yesterday, July 11.
In her snap, she is seen holding six coins — three from the old BSP coin series and the three from the New Generation Currency series. As per Montes’ photo, there is a striking difference in the appearance of the coins in the old series, particularly on colors and sizes.
Montes compared the two sets, saying of the previous series: “Ang pera noon madali makita ang halaga.” (The coins’ value before could be easily seen.)
She then had a different take on the new series: “Di tulad [ngayon]… Kailangan mong tignan maigi bago makita ang halaga.” (Unlike now, you have to look at it closely before you see the value.)

Unlike in the previous series which featured Emilio Aguinaldo, the coin this time has Andres Bonifacio engraved on it. Meanwhile, the new P10 coin only features Apolinario Mabini, instead of him and Bonifacio together as in the former.
