Anne Curtis says she got punched in the face by a man in ‘Buy Bust’ shoot
One of the many things award-winning actress Anne Curtis is proud of in her newest full-length action film “Buy Bust” would be the hardships she endured while filming the movie. Her stunts that she did all by herself were not for the weak and faint-hearted.
“Ang pinaka mahirap po is we did a 5-day rehearsal for one scene, it was a 3-minute scene na one long shot lang. It was one long shot na pinagpapasa-pasahan lang yung camera,” she said at the grand media launch of “Buy Bust” on Tuesday.
“Galing ako sa baba, aakyat ako ng bubong bababa ako ng bubong makikipag-away ako sa bubong aakyat ako ulit sa bubong hanggang sa malaglag ako sa bubong. It took us 57 takes to get it right,” she elaborated.
She said the taxing scenes made her vomit on their first day of shoot. Film Director Erik Matti even said that the perfect take was made on the third day at about 4:15 a.m.
As her scenes are breath-stoppingly physical, it was inevitable for her to encounter accidents while shooting. Among those was getting punched by a man right smack in the face.

Yung kasal ko buti na lang long-sleeves yung dress ko kasi puro sugat yung dito ko [pointing to her arms] fresh wounds ah. And yes this was the first time I ever got punched in the face by a man,” she shared.

Immediately after the scene, she looked around and saw she was surrounded by men and so even if she wanted to cry, she held her tears and said she was okay.
“Yes, I was physically injured during this film pero masaya siya eh,” she said.
Although no matter how demanding the scenes were, Curtis never thought of giving up as she said so herself, she’s very competitive and challenged to give work par excellence.
Because of the dedication and hardwork she and the entire “Buy Bust” team gave into the movie, she could not wait for the people to see their finished product.
Included in the cast are Brandon Vera, AJ Muhlach, Joross Gamboa, Victor Neri, Arjo Atayde, Noni Buencamino and many others.
“Buy Bust” is finally showing in local cinemas starting August 1. /jpv
