LOOK: Jose Manalo flaunts clear skin, draws comparison to Alden Richards
If there is one identifiable feature Jose Manalo is known for, it’s his signature pockmarked face. But what will happen when this distinguishable feature is no more? What if his now-clear-skin becomes comparable to that of “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards’?
Manalo flaunted his flawless face in a photo uploaded by the official Facebook page of the TV show “Eat Bulaga” on June 23. Wearing a dark gray shirt, the comedian squinted while smiling at the camera, which focused on his fair-skinned face.
It is not clear whether the photo was edited or not. Moreover, the location of where the photo was taken is also unclear but one may assume that it was taken sometime during the “Juan For All, All For Juan” segment of the noontime show.
Of course, fans were quick to react on Manalo’s sudden transformation. “Anong nangyari (What happened?),” asked one netizen. Another commenter brought up the fact that Manalo’s face used to be marred with acne scars.

Since Manalo — who has dimples too like Richards — is now sporting clear skin, some fans said he now looks a lot like the “Pambansang Bae.”
One fan, Sam Damian, probably thinks Manalo looks more feminine with his clear skin when he made use of Pitu, a photo-editing application to crop the comedian’s face.
Unsurprisingly, some fans got curious of what Manalo’s current skin care routine is.
Meanwhile, some fans poked fun at the expression of the girl wearing a light pink t-shirt behind Manalo in the photo, with a few joking that the girl might be feeling skeptical about Manalo’s sudden facial transformation.
While most fans are happy with Manalo’s clear skin, one fan, Pedro Amorin, laments the comedian’s transformation. “Nalungkot ako Jose [sa’yo] na nga lang ako kumukuha ng salaks ng loob[,] tapos kuminis pa [mukha] mo [pa’ano na’ko n’yan],” wrote the commenter.
(I was sad, Jose, because you had been my source of confidence, and then your face became flawless. What will happen to me now?)
Jose Manalo’s photo, which had gone viral, has garnered over 19,600 likes and reactions, 2000 comments and 3,000 shares, as of this writing. JB
