Chaka Khan has shared an energetic, choreographed video for “Like Sugar”, the funk legend’s first song in more than a decade.
A line-up of dancers take the spotlight one by one in the video, dancing for the camera as their moves are shown on loop. Later, they come together in a boisterous choreographed climax, while the video’s looping takes on an increasingly surreal feel.
Chaka Khan teams up with producer Switch on “Like Sugar”, which released on Switch’s new label imprint, Diary Records. The track is the first single from a new album Chaka Khan will release before the year is out.
That album, whose title and release date have yet to be revealed, will be the artist’s first since 2007 album “Funk This”. JB
