Queen of All Media Kris Aquino had the perfect response to Lolit Solis when the latter made a comment about Aquino and her friendship with Quezon City mayor, Herbert Bautista, then another comment about her participation in the film “Crazy Rich Asians”.
This was after Aquino took to Instagram on May 24, to wax sentimental about the friend she found in Bautista despite their failed attempt at a relationship in the past.
Solis took to her own Instagram page on the same day to give her own take about the matter. Solis usually does so with celebrities, posting her opinion on the latest goings-on in the showbiz world through her social media account.
“Hindi rin matapus-tapos ang istorya ng Herbert Bautista at Kris Aquino ha, Salve. Heto gawa na naman ng eksena Kris, attend siya ng birthday party Herbert, o di ba news na naman,” wrote Solis.
(The Herbert-Kris story doesn’t seem to end, right, Salve? Here, Kris is making a scene again, she attended the birthday party of Herbert, and isn’t it news again?)
Solis admits that Aquino is indeed a newsmaker and newsworthy. However, Solis found it uncanny that despite Aquino being in the Hollywood movie “Crazy Rich Asians”, she was nowhere in sight in the promotional trailer.
“Naloka lang ako na sa dami ng balita dun sa Hollywood movie kung saan siya kasali, wala man lang siya sa trailer, to think na dinala niya buo niyang glam team sa Singapore,” continued Solis. “Sure ako abonado pa si Kris sa nagastos niya kesa sa tf (talent fee) niya sa movie, hah hah…”
(I went crazy because of all the news about that Hollywood movie where she is included; she’s not even in the trailer, to think that she brought her entire glam team to Singapore. I’m sure Kris had to spend from her own pocket, and those expenses are bigger than her talent fee in the movie.)
Aquino, in an instant, commented on Solis’ post to defend herself regarding her non-appearance in the trailer of “Crazy Rich Asians”.
“Hello Nay (mom). May utang akong birthday gift (I owe you a birthday gift),” started Aquino. “I have never hidden the fact na I have at most 5 minutes of screen time in Crazy Rich Asians. But it was a once in a lifetime opportunity- so i grabbed it.”
Regarding the talent fee, Aquino had a sassy reply too: “I think it paid for my @michael5inco gown… may (there’s a ) strict non disclosure agreement ang (with) Warner Brothers, but when people watch the movie they will understand bakit ako na excite (why I got excited).”
Aquino also recalled a word of advice Solis gave her before on why it’s okay for celebrities to be extravagant when it comes to their cars. Solis then told her that it’s because it is what people see and if one wants a huge talent fee, one should look the part.
“Never forgot those words. And put it into practice sa gastos sa glam team & wardrobe ko. Dumaan ako kasi yung party ni mayor was 3 minutes away from my shooting set. Kung ininvite mo ko sa birthday mo- dumaan din sana ako & like last time, $ ang laman ng AMPAW na lucky envelope na gift ko.”
(Never forgot those words. And put it into practice on my expenses with my glam team and wardrobe. I passed by the mayor’s party because it was three minutes away from my shooting set. Had you invited me to your birthday, I would have also passed by, and like the last time, [dollars] would be what’s inside the red lucky envelope, which would be my gift to you.) JB
