‘Lethal Weapon’ renewed with new lead, Seann William Scott
With Clayne Crawford departing the TV series, itself based on an earlier movie franchise, Seann William Scott of “American Pie”, “Super Troopers 2” and “Goon” steps into the shoes of curveball cop Martin Riggs.
For a few days following the apparent ejection of lead actor Clayne Crawford, the future of “Lethal Weapon” appeared to be in doubt.
Crawford played Martin Riggs, a young and impulsive police officer partnered with a senior detective, Roger Murtaugh.
But their televisual escapades are not yet over, as Seann William Scott will be playing Riggs in season three, expected fall 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Scott’s career took off at the turn of the century thanks to his involvement in the “American Pie” frat comedies as well as “Final Destination”, “Dude, Where’s My Car?” and “Road Trip”.
