Maymay Entrata

Maymay Entrata shares with Inquirer fond memories of her grandmother. She said: “I grew up with my lola. We went through a lot of hardships, and I admired the fact that she didn’t give up trying to give us a good life.

“Sometimes, we only had bread, but she never let us get hungry, and made sure we ate three times a day. She might not have been able to give us the life she wanted us to have, but I learned a lot from her.

“She taught us the importance of being simple, happy and content with whatever we have in life. If you learn to do that, you won’t find yourself asking for more, regardless of your stature. Don’t ever tire of being thankful.

“When I entered show biz, she told me that, should I feel lost and get overwhelmed by it all, just remember to look back at where I came from and reflect.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
