Queen of All Media Kris Aquino and sons Josh and Bimby celebrated Mother’s Day a bit early — five days earlier to be exact — as shown in their latest YouTube video posted yesterday, May 8.

In the video, Bimby and Josh were shown preparing breakfast with the help of a chef for their Mother’s Day surprise.

“I will cook breakfast for Madam Kris, which is Mama,” quipped Bimby. “I like calling her Madam Kris because she’s the best. And she’s on higher standard.”

The fare included fried bangus, scrambled eggs, brown rice, as well as gourmet tuyo. Once everything was set, it didn’t take long for Kris to descend from the staircase in her pajamas.

“Happy Mother’s Day!” greeted Bimby. “Why do you have make up on?”

“I do not have make up on,” denied Kris.

“Yes you do. Why do you have lipstick?”

“I don’t have lipstick.”

“It’s lipstick. And you put blush on and your hair… Why do you smell like powder?”

Apart from the breakfast, Bimby and Josh decorated the pool with gold balloons, spelling out “Happy Mama’s Day” in the water. The non-surprise surprise didn’t go unappreciated of course, as Kris turned to her sons and thanked them with all her heart.

“I am so lucky to have both of you,” said Kris looking obviously moved. “…They know our life story. Right? And they know that you guys are not really growing up in a conventional setting—”

“Yeah, like without a dad,” interrupted Bimby.

“Yeah unfortunately, right. I think I overcompensate in that sense. I believe that I try my best talaga na punuin yung kulang (to fill up that void). And in-a-acknolwedge ko naman yan eh (I do acknowledge that),” Kris said. “In a perfect world, you guys would be growing up with a father figure in this house. And a good one. If the world was perfect, but the world is not perfect.”

Kris added that in a less than ideal situation, any mother would do their all not to compromise their children and make sure they get the best of everything: “And in this case, if I can ensure that they get the best, the best of whatever I earn can buy, I’ll give it to them… I would not have the privilege of celebrating Mother’s Day had it not been for the two of you.”

Kris may have been the subject of numerous issues in the past, but no one can deny that she is one admirable single mother— one who, despite the criticism thrown her away, still ends up triumphant as her great love for her children overshadows it all. JB
