Denise Laurel reveals real reason why she fell in love with Sol Mercado

There’s nothing like sending your boyfriend some words of affirmation on his special day, as what Denise Laurel did for her beau, Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) star Sol Mercado.
For the Barangay Ginebra player’s birthday, the actress wrote a sweet and inspiring note which she posted on her Instagram yesterday, May 7.
In awe of Mercado’s love for God, Laurel expressed hope that he continues to glorify Him in everything he does and to continue to feel God’s love, through all the blessings and trials. She added that she and her son Davian Alexander, whom she had from a previous relationship but has grown close to Mercado, “can also be tools of God in showing His love and belief in you as well.”
Laurel said: “Baby, I’m truly blessed to be given the eyes to SEE YOU for all the amazing things that [you] are and to witness [your] awesome growth as a man and lover of the Lord.”
And while she admitted that her boyfriend is “really really handsome,” she said the real reason why she went head over heels for him in the first place was because of his “[l]ove of God and your huge faith in Him!”
“I’m proud of [you]! I want the best for [you]!,” Laurel exclaimed. “I believe in [you] and [I] won’t stop being amazed by you! Happy Birthday!”
She also has this simple wish for her boyfriend: “[I] [don’t] pray for all your hearts desires to come true i pray for God’s desires for you to come ASAP cause that’s way better than anything [you] could ever ask for!”
The two were previously engaged in 2013, but suddenly called it off in 2016. Laurel revealed months later that they were working on their relationship. JB
