Comedian, actor and talent manager Ogie Diaz of ABS-CBN had some prickly words to say to GMA headwriter Suzette Doctolero, after what appears to be her incessant nitpicking of ABS-CBN’s shows.

Previously, Doctolero had voiced out her opinion on ABS-CBN fantaserye Bagani’s depiction of the babaylan. Apart from telling people to be careful when it comes to writing, she also begged people not to make a joke out of the Philippines’ rich cultures.

Recently, a netizen named Inyaki Yuson took to Facebook to share a clip of a scene in “Kambal Karibal”, which Doctolero is a creative consultant of, as per the IMDb.

The netizen called out the nurse in the scene and criticized her CPR chest compressions skills in jest. “Hoy nurse!!! CPR Chest compressions skills level -45! Hahaha,” wrote Yuson last April 30. “CPR ba yan teh or spirit of the glass? Tas yung doktor mahiyain nagtatago pa sa likod silip silip lang doc? Pagod? Ayoko na sa earth!!!

(Hey, nurse! CPR Chest compressions skills level -45! [Laughs] Is that CPR, sister, or spirit of the glass? Also, the doctor looks shy, hiding at the back. Just peeking, doc? Tired? I hate the earth.)

The clip went viral, amassing 2.3 million views and about 50,000 likes, as of this writing. It was this clip that Diaz shared on his Facebook page last May 1, taking the opportunity to call out Doctolero in the process.

“‘Ang taba mo, Ogs. Ba’t di ka magpapayat?’ ‘Sige, simulan mo, susunod ako,’” wrote Diaz. “Walang ipinagkaiba yan sa ‘bago pumuna sa uling ng iba, humarap muna sa salamin, baka meron ka ding uling sa mukha.’”

(“You’re so fat, Ogs. Why don’t you lose weight?” “Sure, you start, I’ll follow.” Not any different from facing the mirror first before looking at the dirt on the face of other people. You might also have dirt on yours.)

(Which is why I want to say to Suzette Doctolero who always criticizes ABS-CBN shows while she writes for GMA-7: nobody’s perfect, sister. If you’re busy noticing the yard of your neighbors, you really won’t see what’s wrong in your own house. So, the real battle now in teleseryes is be more beautiful.)

Apart from this, Diaz also said that instead of slinging mud at each other, they should just focus on their own jobs to be better for their viewers.

“After all, kaya naman tayo nandito sa trabahong ito ay dahil gusto nating bigyan ng magandang show ang audience kahit hindi naman perfect 100% ang lahat ng shows.”

(After all, we’re doing this job because we want to deliver beautiful shows to the audience, even though it’s not perfect 100 percent, all the shows.)

Diaz added: “At sa pagkakataong ito, hindi para magsabi akong mali ang ginawa ng talent na nurse sa pasyente. Gusto ko pa ring isiping mahusay din yung nurse sa pag-pray over.”

(And at this point, I’m not saying what the nurse talent did on the patient was wrong. I would just like to think that she’s also good in doing a pray over.)

Meanwhile, Doctolero took to her Facebook just this morning and without naming anybody wrote, “Petty and shallow ramblings. Irrelevant issues thrown in to deflect their booboos. Mas need niya ang brain transplant kaysa mahabang sagot from me (He needs a brain transplant more than a lengthy answer from me). Basta eto lang po: Filipino ako. Ilalaban ko ang kalinangan ko (I just want to make this point: I am a Filipino. I will fight for my culture).”

Doctolero has not confirmed whether or not she was referring to Diaz in the said post. JB
