Dani Barretto on bashers saying sister Julia is prettier: ‘Nagpapagandahan ba kami?’

Dani Barretto, eldest child of Marjorie Barretto with actor Kier Legaspi, put bashers in their rightful place two days ago, April 29, after they made her the target of their online vitriol.
Barretto’s younger half-sisters are Julia and Claudia, Marjorie’s daughters with ex-husband Dennis Padilla. While Julia and Claudia have made their name in the showbiz scene as talented stars in their oeuvre, Dani, on the other hand, is known for being a travel blogger and influencer.
“I don’t understand these bashers when they say ‘ay mas maganda si Julia sayo,’” wrote Barretto, seemingly irked. “Ay bakit nagpapagandahan ba kami? Kailangan pareho talaga kaming mukha? Di pwede maiba? Ikakamatay ko ba kung hindi ako si Julia?”
(I don’t understand these bashers when they say, “Oh, Julia is prettier than you.” Oh, why, are we supposed to outdo each other’s looks? Do we really have to have the same face? Can’t there be a difference? Will it kill me if I don’t look like Julia?)
Dani added, “Girl, mag tahi ka nalang or mag jogging ka. Masyado kang hater.” (Girl, just sew or jog. You’re too much of a hater.)

It is unknown who Dani was referring to in her tweet as she didn’t drop any names, but it looks like she was not finished. In a later tweet, Dani wrote, “Kung maka bash kala mo life and death situation pag hindi ko kamukha mga kapatid ko eh. Can we all just mind our own business and be happy with our lives?”
(What a basher, it’s as if it’s a life and death situation of I don’t look like my siblings. Can we all just mind our own business and be happy with our lives?)
“You bashers should try it. It’s good for the soul,” she ended.

Julia, seeing her sister’s tweets, was quick to come to her defense, replying to Dani’s tweet, “How could anyone bash someone whose soul is as beautiful and as kind as yours?” wrote Julia to her sister. “Don’t let them get to you. You’re beautiful let no one tell you otherwise.”
Dani, on the other hand, seemed to appreciate her sister’s gesture, as she wrote back, “I love you.”
Newly engaged singer Moira Dela Torre and actress Janine Gutierrez also came to Dani’s defense, with the two replying to her tweets yesterday.

It seems the bashers’ hating is futile at this point, as it’s clear they chose the wrong person to mess with. Dani has shown that she’s not one to be trifled with, and she can definitely count on her sisters and friends to protect her, no matter what. JB
