The new trailer for upcoming comicbook movie “Venom” features a vicious, monstrous-looking anti-hero that fans can get excited about.
Compared to the character’s brief appearance in “Spider-Man 3”, the new Venom has more rows of teeth and looks more organic.
The trailer also shows Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, using the powers of the alien Symbiote without fully transforming into Venom. In some portions, he can be seen talking with a growling internal voice, presumably coming from the Symbiote.
While Sony produced the film, an “in association with Marvel” logo appeared in the beginning of the trailer. This suggests Marvel Studios had something to say during the movie’s creation. Such a move may be a way to keep the film’s story within a single universe, similar to what Marvel did with the Avengers saga. This can leave possibilities for crossovers with Spider-Man and other Marvel characters down the road.
“Venom” has been scheduled for an Oct. 5 premiere. JB
