With her flawless skin and fit physique, it’s a given that Sunshine Cruz looks much younger than 40 years old.
However, throwback pictures from her teen years show that the “Wildflower” actress may have not aged at all.
Slim and tall with big wavy hair, Sunshine was only 15 when she worked on “Pandoy: Alalay ng Panday”. In one photo from 25 years back, she poses with Joel Torres, Joey de Leon, former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim, Sharmaine Arnaiz and Richie D’Horsie.
Another photo showing her as a 15-year-old is one with her Cruz cousins, Glenda Bayona, Geneva Cruz, Donna Cruz, Sheryl Cruz and Aubrey Cruz, all of whom have aged beautifully — or rather, maintained their youthful appearance.
The cousins couldn’t help exchange memories of the night, which was Donna’s 16th birthday. Aubrey shared that her ring got caught into Sunshine’s dress and she couldn’t remove it.
“Bigla nag-live na tayo so nakatago yung kamay ko sa back mo,” she recounted.
(We suddenly went live so my hand stayed hidden at your back.)
Donna harked back to a time when they wore braces: “Parang kelan lang no? Nakabraces pa tayo diyan or ako lang ba?”
(It’s like this was just yesterday, right? Did we all have braces or was it just me?)
Sunshine remembered vividly that only Donna and Aubrey had braces. As for her, only her lower teeth had them on.
At 18, Sunshine is glowing in a teal and white halter gown during her debut. The picture shows her flanked by the late talent managers Alfie Lorenzo and German Moreno, with actor Tirso Cruz III.
Some netizens called her “immortal” while others compared her to her eldest daughter, Angelina.
Aside from her ageless appearance, Sunshine has also defied expectations of age when she graduated with a college degree last 2017 at 39 years old. JB
