To say that Zsa Zsa Padilla has aged gracefully would be an understatement; the actress and singer maintains a youthful energy and confidence in her long-lasting career.
As she vacationed in Tokyo with partner Conrad Onglao, daughter Karylle and son-in-law Yael Yuzon, Padilla made updates of their trip on Instagram, posting picture-perfect selfies and portraits while enjoying the city’s cherry blossom season.
While many praised her radiance, there were still some who put a damper on her social media feed. As the “Wildflower” actress demonstrated an accidental burn on her face (attributed to a curling iron), some left sour comments on her appearance.
“Kita na edad mo po pati po sa kamay kulubot na (Your age is showing, even your hands are wrinkled),” said a certain @evie_thaert.

With aplomb, Padilla replied, “Oo naman (Of course)! Proud to be old and 53. No shame in that.”
Another netizen, @ludette_may said, “No matter how much make-up you put in your face, and how many retokes [cosmetic doctor] Vicki Belo make (sic) to you, you really can’t hide your age… look at your hands…”
“Yes, I see my hands everyday and I know it shows my age. Should it matter? Why should growing old be thrown as an insult to women?” replied Padilla.

She clarified, “I filmed this with no filter and I’m not even wearing foundation so your idea of ‘too much makeup’ is pretty inaccurate. As for Belo treatments, it helps but we don’t claim to have discovered the fountain of youth.”
“Please don’t shame me for aging,” she requested. “It’s a natural process I’d like to enjoy going through. One day, you may be lucky to grow old yourself and realize, it’s not as bad as you perceive it to be.”
Aside from her looks, fans bowed down to her cool and collected response. Netizen @moonlight_bianca said, “Very well said. Every human being will age but not everyone will age gracefully like you. Inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. Keep on inspiring women in all ages.”
“All I can say is BOOM!!!” wrote @rgnm60. “You did a Kris Aquino. Next time senseless people make comments, beware!”
