‘Kapatid’ David Archuleta
The year 2011 saw TV5 aggressively signing up some of the biggest names in local show biz such as Nora Aunor, Aga Muhlach, Lorna Tolentino and Sharon Cuneta. This year, the Kapatid network has taken a step further by adding “American Idol” 2008 finalist David Archuleta to its growing roster of stars.
In “Paparazzi” last Sunday, hosts Cristy Fermin and Ruffa Gutierrez announced that the 21-year-old singer will arrive in Manila this Friday. Archuleta will be putting down the mic for a while to try his hands at acting in a prime-time series, which will also star homegrown Kapatid talents Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero.
The reveal came as a pleasant surprise for local fans, especially after Archuleta earlier announced that he would be taking a hiatus from the music industry to embark on a two-year religious mission for the Mormon Church.
