‘Happy, Yipee, Yehey!’ about to get the axe

BAYANI Agbayani

Could it be true that ABS-CBN will soon axe “Happy, Yipee, Yehey!”? Heard that the stars and the staff of the noontime show were told about it already. (Our sources say “Showtime” will take over “HYY’s” time slot starting Feb. 1 —Ed.) Too bad. Looks like the title of their show turned out to be misnomer.

Making peace

I immensely enjoyed the spa birthday party of Bayani Agbayani at Wensha on Sumulong Highway, Antipolo. After the relaxing massage, we let our hair down.

Bayani told me he has finally made peace with Dingdong Dantes after his tiff with Dong’s GF Marian Rivera at a taping. That gives the birthday boy more reason to celebrate.

Present at the fete were Cesar Montano and his fab wife Sunshine, Phillip Salvador, Alicia Mayer, Marissa Sanchez and husband Ian, Alvin Anson, Anthony Castelo, Jestoni Alarcon’s wife Lizette, Al Tantay and Bayani’s wife Len.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith is as nervous and excited as her Ate Anne for Ms Annebisyosa’s first major concert at the Big Dome. “We are doing a medley of Katy Perry’s songs,” says Jasmine. “I told ate nga na parang ’di ko kaya, but she told me that it’s all about the confidence factor. Lahat nga kami sa family nagulat na naging No. 1 ang album niya at may concert pa siya. Kasi when she was younger, pinipilit siya ni mommy mag-voice lessons pero ayaw niya. But ever since, she loves to sing kahit wala sa tono. She’s a bit worried if people will watch her concert since it’s a week after Katy Perry’s.”

Anne is living proof that the off-key sound of music and the sweet smell of success can blend well if there’s enough charm with it.

Regine Velasquez tweeted, asking her followers for suggestions on unique production numbers that she and Ogie can do with Vice Ganda on their Valentine concert. The one with the best idea will get free tickets to the concert.

Hmm … maybe Vice could portray the dad of Reg in a skit interspersed with songs about the various stages of her courtship with Ogie, especially during the time Mang Jerry was still overprotective of Regine. That would be so hilarious! Regine, Ogie and Vice as Trio Loco!
