They say good habits start early, and for action star and family man Robin Padilla, this rings true. Not even baby daughter Isabella, who is barely two years old, gets a Get Out of Chores Free card when it comes to the general cleaning of the Padilla home.

Last night, Robin posted on Instagram adorable pictures and clips of Isabella helping around with the cleaning of the courtyard and old rubber mats — barefoot and holding two floor scrubs like magical staffs and all.

“Operation LINIS ng mga lumang rubber mats at courtyard (Operation cleaning of old rubber mats and courtyard),” wrote Robin. “Maraming salamat sa Nanay kapitan (Many thanks to mother captain) @marieltpadilla kay Ninang (godmother) @analynyuragtequin, midwife sister Jo, Yaya Belen, cook ate (sister) Erna, SA [special assistant] Ana, SA Narcisa.”

Young children learn best from mimesis and Isabella tried to imitate the adults around her as they hosed, soaped and scrubbed the courtyard well.

Mariel and the helpers took turns in holding Isabella’s walking harness to make sure she doesn’t get too wet, while dad Robin focused on scrubbing the rubber mats.

There’s that old saying that “cleanliness is next to godliness,” and learning to clean up after one’s self is a virtue not many possess. Whether she’s too young to scrub floors or not, starting Isabella early in the world of chores could only be an advantage for her in the near future, and her mom Mariel and dad Robin should know best.
