“I’m surrounding myself with really good friends,” actor Sam Milby said when asked by reporters how he’s been trying to heal his broken heart.

“Also, bikes. I actually bought a new motorcycle. Nakakawala ng stress. I get to travel a lot more,” Sam revealed at a recent press conference for his coming movie, “Ang Pambansang Third Wheel.”

The actor, who has been single for five months now, has also been seeking “personal growth.” “I found a great church, and I’m working on my relationship with God … And I believe that’s what has helped me a lot,” the 33-year-old heartthrob related.

“Out of respect,” Sam declined to divulge the exact reason he and model, Mari Jasmine, broke up. But he did stress that there was no third party involved and that it was Mari who initiated the split.

“They always say that you will never know if you have really moved on until you’re with someone else. So, have I truly moved on? Yes and no. I have accepted it and I’m fine. I think it would be a struggle though, if I saw her,” he said, adding that while he and Mari aren’t “friends” at the moment, they’re “OK” with each other.

For now, Sam’s just hoping that the next girl he falls in love with will be “the one.” “I’m getting older and many of my friends are already married and have kids. This time, I’m really praying,” he said. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
