Scandal rekindles war of celebs

/ 08:58 PM January 03, 2012

PAULEEN Luna: Vic Sotto remains vague about their alleged relationship.

Turns out, Controversial Celebrity has no supporters among former colleagues. Before their paths crossed in a new project, CC had a raging feud with Scandalous Personality. But because they had to work together, CC and SP had to declare a ceasefire.

But when CC bailed from the project because of a lurid scandal, SP’s hatred was sparked anew. SP certainly doesn’t have fond memories of CC. She even reminded coworkers that CC had been threatening to unleash a “major controversy” before jumping ship.

A mole gasped: Does that mean CC had a direct hand in concocting that awful scandal in the first place?

FEATURED STORIES

Slip of tongue 1

It seems fury has affected Pretty Star’s sense of hearing.

PS was chatting up a storm with Sympathetic Pal—complaining about a Former Boyfriend. PS had a litany of sob stories—that FB would disappear for days and was generally neglectful and unfaithful, et cetera.

SP could only sigh: “I know the guy.” PS quipped: “Which guy?” Oops.

Slip of tongue 2

Charming Starlet turned beet red during a screening of her latest project. She acted shocked upon seeing her kissing scene with Veteran Actor.

CS later claimed it felt like being “molested” because the scene involved tongue action. Didn’t she feel the French during the shoot? Perhaps seeing it on the big screen brought back ew-full memories?

Close observers will attest that this is not the first time that CS cried “harassment” in the hands of a leading man.

Driver, sweet lover

Beautiful Starlet should take consolation in this little tattle tale: Hunky Beau found solace in Gifted Performer after breaking up with her.

HB now relies on GP to accomplish other tasks, aside from being the official “shock absorber” in romantic matters. According to scuttlebutt, GP now serves as HB’s chauffeur, too. HB often asks GP to drive him around town. Multitasking in the boudoir and behind the wheel? Kinky.

Missing Nora

Superstar Nora Aunor was supposed to receive a special citation at the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival awards night.

Instead, the trophy for lifetime achievement was given to another screen legend, Eddie Garcia. Whatever happened to Nora’s award?

A source said that Nora had earlier confirmed her attendance and even had a gown made.

SQ Films’ side

SQ Films Laboratories responded to allegations that it deliberately delayed the release of the prints of “Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga.”

In a statement, Anastacio Angelo A. Santos, SQ postproduction manager, said: “We regret that the delay… was interpreted as sabotage, which we categorically deny.” There wasn’t, he said, and “nor will there ever be, any connivance between SQ Film Laboratories and other production companies involved in the festival.”

Estranged ‘diplomats’

Piolo Pascual was recently named Ambassador for Culture by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

His ex-girlfriend, KC Conception, is the United Nations World Food Programme’s Philippine Ambassador against Hunger.

Culture and hunger are worlds apart, indeed.

Dance vs pneumonia

Jay R, Jhong Hilario and Bianca Lapus were among the celebrities who joined “Move!”—a dance marathon that aims to spread enthusiasm in an antipneumonia drive.

The campaign is spearheaded by the city governments of Makati and Caloocan, University of the Philippines Manila-National Institutes of Health, and GlaxoSmithKline.

Highlight of the marathon—simultaneously held at the Makati City Hall Quadrangle and North Caloocan City Glorietta Stadium—was the turnover of vaccines by GSK to the two city governments.

Elton John’s choice

LOS ANGELES—Elton John is working on a biopic about himself and would like Justin Timberlake to take on the lead role, he said in an interview published Sunday.

An announcement about the biopic is due very soon, the 64-year-old singer-songwriter told the Los Angeles Times newspaper.

On who will play him, John said: “No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of (Elton classic) ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.”

The British pop legend—who is nominated for a Golden Globe on Jan. 15 for his song “Hello, Hello” from the film “Gnomeo & Juliet”—will be back in the studio soon to record a new album. But he insisted his days as a top-40 star are over.

“As Elton John, my days on pop radio are over… I know that and I accept it and I’m not unhappy about it. It’s a different time of my life now, and it gives me the freedom to do whatever kind of music I want,” he said.

He paid tribute to Lady Gaga, with whom he duets on “Hello, Hello,” saying: “I was kind of like that at the beginning of my career. I dressed outrageously, and I didn’t care about boundaries.” AFP

Top of the talk shows

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (And why we are moved, if we are moved):

Sen. Bong Revilla, asked what gift he wants to receive from his wife, Cavite Rep. (That should be easy, huh?)

Lani Mercado’s New Year’s resolution: “Magkaroon ng panahon para sa pamilya dahil ngayon hati, eh. May pulitika tapos may show biz pa.” (Ah, not so easy pala.)

Vic Sotto on being linked to Pauleen Luna: “Wala naman akong dapat i-kwento. I’m always in love.” (As in…?)

.” (Korek. Lalo pag deserved.)

Coco Martin, asked about the possibility of being linked to “Walang Hanggan” costar Julia Montes: Mahirap naman magsalita nang tapos… (Anuvayan? Possibility pa lang…)

John Lloyd Cruz on doing daring scenes with leading lady Angel Locsin in “Unofficially Yours”: “I’m excited, most especially kay Angel.” (Huh?)

Anne Curtis on being teased about her “singing” career: “I’m not a singer, I’m a performer. Aminado naman ako na ’di talaga ako singer, no!” (Sorry na lang kami?)

Pokwang, asked what she’s most thankful for in 2011: “Natupad ’yung mga pangarap ko na bigyan ng disenteng tahanan ang mga mahal ko sa buhay. ’Yun lang naman talaga ang importante. Bonggang-bongga na ’yun para sa ’kin.” (Bongga!)

Piolo Pascual on all the blessings he received in 2011: “I’m just thankful for all the prayers and support that I’ve been getting… The most important thing is for us to check our hearts if it’s in place, and keep the faith.” (Uh.)

Vice Ganda, asked how he deals with detractors: “Marami silang sinasabi, marami silang ibinabato tungkol sa ’kin. Ayokong ma-distract… Kasi kung lilingon at lilingon ako… di ako makakadiretso sa tinatahak ko.”

Eugene Domingo, asked if she’ll let Dingdong Dantes court her: “Ano ba namang klaseng tanong ’yan? Parang, ‘kapag nauhaw ka ba, iinom ka ng tubig?’ Oo naman!” (’Yan, diretso!)
