Sharon Stone laughs at being asked about sexual harassment

Sharon Stone gave a surprising response, a hearty laugh, after she was asked about sexual harassment in the course of her career.

The veteran actress was recently interviewed by CBS Sunday Morning about her current state of affair. Host Lee Cowan awkwardly brought up the topic of sexual harassment in Hollywood and Stone’s experience.

Stone gave a long, hearty laugh at the question, to the confusion of Lee.

“You’re laughing but I- I don’t know if that’s a nervous laugh? Or [an] ‘Are you kidding me, of course I was’ laugh,” he said.

When she finished, Stone elaborated on why she laughed at the topic.

“I’ve been in this business for 40 years, Lee. Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago?” said Stone.

She continued, “Looking like I look? From nowhere Pennsylvania? I didn’t come here with any protection. I’ve seen it all.”

Stone’s attitude toward the ongoing issues of sexual harassment in Hollywood lately could be seen as commendable and admirable.

She also said, “We’re starting to acknowledge our own gifts as women and not think that we have to behave as men in order to be empowered or powerful or valuable.”
