Angelica Panganiban on falling in love again: ‘May kaba lang’

After being heartbroken from her previous relationship, actress Angelica Panganiban said she is ready to open her heart again to someone new.
“Kaya na. May kaba, may kaba lang talaga na ‘Ito na! Ito na naman!‘ (I can. There’s just jitters, like ‘Here we go! Here we go again!)” she told talk show host Boy Abunda on “Tonight with Boy Abunda”.
“The past few relationships, hindi naman ako kinabahan eh. ‘Yung mga huli, sige, game! Laban lang ‘yan (With the past few relationships, I wasn’t nervous. With the recent ones, okay, game! Fight on)!” Panganiban exclaimed. But now, she shared that she has mellowed and is being more careful.
Asked if she was dating again, she answered, “Lumalabas naman ako. Tignan natin.” (I do go out. Let’s see what happens.) But she uttered a firm “no” when asked if she would date an ex.
When it was time for her to face Abunda’s golden mirror, she advised herself on love: “Huwag kang matakot. Pwede kang matuto, pero ‘wag kang matakot.” (Don’t be afraid. You can learn, but don’t be afraid.)
On the question of what type of man she thinks she deserves, she said, “‘Yung lalaking hindi ka babaguhin. ‘Yung lalaking ma-a-appreciate ka lang. ‘Yung lalaking ikaw at ikaw lang ang kayang tignan, respetuhin at mahalin (He who will never change you. He who will always appreciate you. He who will look only at you, respect you and love you).”
After being together for almost four years, Panganiban and Cruz split up in January 2016. She has been vocal about her struggle to move on.
